Running a business can sometimes feel like spinning plates – emails, clients, admin, planning, family life… and somehow you’re expected to keep it all going without dropping one. It’s no wonder so many business owners end up feeling drained and overwhelmed.
But here’s the good news: your business doesn’t have to be built on the things that drain you. It can – and should – be powered by the things that light you up.

Why passions matter in business
When you focus on what brings you joy, your energy flows more freely. You’ll notice:
You feel more motivated to show up.
The tricky bits become easier to handle.
Your enthusiasm is contagious, and people notice.
It’s not about ignoring the tasks you find challenging, but about letting your strengths and passions fuel your work.
My passion – helping others rise
For me, my biggest passion is helping others succeed. I love supporting people to become the best version of themselves, so they can be proud of what they’re building and how far they’ve come.
I also happen to love organising – yes, I’m one of those people who actually enjoys it! That passion makes it easy for me to stay on top of the practical side of business, and it gives me more energy to put into the work I love most.
Finding your passions
If you’re not sure what lights you up, start with these questions:
What tasks make the time fly by?
What do you look forward to in your business?
Where do you feel most confident?
And if nothing comes to mind straight away – that’s okay too. Start with one thing you don’t mind doing, or one thing you’d love to try. Even small sparks can grow into real momentum.
For many neurodivergent people, momentum is the key to productivity. Once you find that spark, it can build and carry you forward in ways that feel natural, energising and sustainable.

A little reminder
Your passions are what make your business unique. They’re your advantage. When you lean into them, your work feels more natural, your energy is higher, and your business shines brighter.
So next time you’re stuck in the weeds of your to-do list, take a breath and ask yourself: what would feel good to do today? That’s your starting point.
And if all else fails? Pop the kettle on, cuddle a cup of tea for ten minutes and give yourself space to reset. ☕💜
